FDS introduces Planet FM Enterprise

The next generation of facilities management software
FDS is pleased to introduce Planet FM Enterprise, the next generation of facilities management software. Delivering enterprise-wide facilities management, Planet FM Enterprise is the latest in the series of highly successful Planet software solutions which have been implemented by over 700 customers to date. FDS has taken Planet FM functionality as the starting point and increased the breadth and depth of the software to match the changing requirements of its current client base, but also to appeal to the wider market. Planet FM Enterprise has been specifically designed for both in-house Facilities Managers and FM contractors.
Regional databases
In addition to the standard functionality designed to help Facilities Managers manage their buildings effectively, further improvements and additions to the software include an enterprise architecture using Microsoft's SQL database. The structure has been designed from the ground up to enable organisations to create separate "datasets" for each operational or geographical division within a group. This allows common structures across divisions for centralised reporting purposes, yet divides up data by division for easy day-to-day management. This unique enterprise architecture removes the need for any synchronisation of data to a centralised system for reporting and analysis.
Contracts and job billing
The new contracts, quotation and job billing features have been designed for maintenance and service contractors and incorporate a fully customisable invoicing facility for recharging purchases and billing for individual maintenance jobs or agreed monthly fees. Complex charging rules can be associated with each customer.
Comprehensive functionality
Further significant additions include space management with dynamic CAD integration, and a new Health & Safety module containing a COSHH register. The software now also includes a sophisticated appointments diary for allocating engineers' or contractors' time. Finally, the Projects module has been extended within Planet FM Enterprise to allow users to plan, cost and complete capital projects and minor works on time and in budget. Funding sources can be recorded and the payment facility keeps track of what you expect to pay and when, including the interims and retentions.
FDS is excited to announce that Planet FM Enterprise has already been purchased and installed by Certainty Group Ltd to manage the operations of two divisions - Certainty Group Security Services who install and maintain integrated fire and security systems; and Certainty Group Total Facilities Management Ltd. Each division is already successfully making use of the multiple "dataset" facility plus the invoicing, quotations, charging and appointment elements of Planet FM Enterprise.
