Property developer to spend billions on construction in Taiwan and China next year | 30 December 2013
A Taiwanese property developer has announced that it is to spend billions on projects in the country and China next year, according to focustaiwan.tw.
Shining Building Business Co., one of Taiwan’s biggest construction companies, announced the development plans in an annual conference last week.
The company claimed it will spend nearly NT$100 billion (£2.02 billion) in new property development projects across the Taiwan Strait next year. Approximately T$30 billion (£0.61 billion) of this will be spent on projects in Taiwan and around NT$62.5 billion (£1.26 billion) in China.
The new projects based in Taiwan are set to be unveiled in the third quarter of the year. Those at the firm claim that most of the projects will be launched in Taipei City as well as New Taipei City, according to chinapost.com.tw. The plans include new residential projects, regenerating brownfield land in areas of moderate to high density.
Main locations for the Chinese developments include Guilin, Chengdu, Nanjing and Qingdao.
The news for the high level of development came after a successful year for the company in 2013. The firm made NT$5.59 billion (£0.11 billion) in consolidated sales in the first 11 months of this year, which is up by nearly half (44.63 per cent) on 2012 figures.
