IAMC Spring Professional Forum | May 6, 2014
The IAMC (Industrial Asset Management Council) Spring Professional Forum at Pinehurst, NC focused on the ability to drive business strategies through Asset Management. An elite group of nearly 500 Corporate Real Estate Executives, Economic Developers and Service Providers participated in the three (3) day program. From April 26 through the 30th, professional development and relationship building focused on topics that including innovation in the workplace, the changing faces of the working class, and foreign direct investment strategies.
In addition to the forum, Sharon Miller Trackman, Director of Marketing for the Americas, attended the Board of Directors Meeting on Saturday, April 26, as a liaison of both the International Committee and the Membership Committee.
This forum intermingled education with additional opportunities for networking in a more casual setting, conducive to the resorts location. These included playing golf on a championship 18 hole course, participating in a Southern BBQ cooking class, or learning and competing in a rousing game of Bocce Ball.
Educational programming supported this year’s topic via keynote speakers, thought leader presentations, and roundtable discussions to better encourage open lines of communications amongst the attendees. Case study discussions in best practices included representatives from renowned companies that included the Kellogg Company, Weyerhauser, PepsiCo, Caris Life Sciences, and Hanesbrands.
“IAMC continues to exceed our expectations in its efforts to maintain a collegial relationship in a peer to peer environment,” stated Miller Trackman. “I had the opportunity to speak one on one with a number of real estate executives on important issues like succession planning, collaboration, going global, and challenging convention.”
