Industry Awareness and Community Service Highlight World FM Day for Qube US team | June 24 2010
Donating time and positive energy for a day of community service to benefit worthy local organizations is what the second annual World FM Day is all about. On June 24th, Qube Global Software is sponsoring a day of service in Philadelphia. In partnership with Philadelphia IFMA, facilities professionals have the opportunity to reach out to their community by doing something positive for the image of our profession and bring awareness of the industry to the world.
Under the guidance of Greater Philadelphia Cares, we have targeted two projects in need of volunteer hours. SHARE (Self Help and Resource Exchange) entails packaging, labeling and storing food in exchange for discounted parcels of food for purchase. The NKCDC (New Kensington Community Development Corporation) is a nonprofit organization that supports the redevelopment of local neighborhoods. Volunteers will assist in cleaning, painting and planting.
“A positive way to make a donation is through giving your own time and energy,” said Matthew Sheldrick, Vice President of Business Development. “After spending a day with Habitat for Humanity New Orleans at the Spring CoreNet conference in April, it proved that money only provides the materials to do the project; it’s the heart and soul of the volunteers who get the job done.”
