Realcomm expanded their efforts to introduce the real estate industry to IBCon (Intelligent Buildings Conference), bringing in an extended group of professionals from diverse industries, including commercial, corporate, government and the institutional real estate industry. IBCon specifically targeted smart, connected high performance buildings, offering industry professionals a more diversified opportunity for education and latest trends.
OSCRE (Open Standards Consortium for Real Estate) International released its roadmap that will offer savings and improved usage of time, lower risks and reduce costs. Matt Burnham, COO of CBRE Property and Asset Management UK, acted as a representative for the OSCRE organization, elaborating on how the industry will continue to move forward utilizing the formula.
Tradeshow attendees participated in sessions with a keynote address by Martha Heller of Heller Search Associates, discussing the increasing role CIO’s play within their companies. Virtual attendees had the opportunity to watch short interviews from panel speakers about specific industry topics: highlights included the impact of social media for the real estate industry, the newest energy standards, and the strength behind Realcomm’s initiatives as a conference.
The conversation on Cloud Computing deepened during ‘The Tech Talk’ session with speakers from Washington Real Estate Investment Trust, Simon Property Group, Majestic Realty Co and 2Five Consulting. From just a short three years ago to today, cloud computing has developed from a conceptual theory to its continuous adoption. Under discussion were the new issues of data integration, application development, security and data privacy to negotiating how cloud contracts have emerged.
Qube Global Software shared a myriad of conversations with attendees about concepts and solutions that positively impact the bottom line of diverse real estate and facilities portfolios. Industry professionals learned about improved decision making through the use of interactive tools that access actionable knowledge while providing a familiar, comprehensive user experience. The primary focus of this combined conference was that owners and developers, financial support teams, managers and engineers could all understand and adapt ideas, concepts and solutions for fast results.
“Once again, Realcomm produced great educational content sessions and an exhibit arena where end users and service providers network and share ideas,” stated Matthew Sheldrick, VP of Business Development. “We remain committed to enhancing our software applications to what users require to make improved business decisions.”
