Bisnow, the commercial real estate events producer and publication, hosts a series of powerful early morning sessions throughout the United States. On Thursday, August 28, 2014, property professionals from the Chicago region met at the Trump International Hotel & Tower.
The panel of key notes was moderated by Don Shapiro, President and CEO of Foresite Realty Partners. The latest challenges, opportunities, efficiencies and sustainability efforts for the property management industry were deliberated between owners, architects, brokers and managers. Real estate businesses with Chicago-based interests included: Partner Engineering and Science; John Buck Company; NAI Hiffman; Cushman & Wakefield; Behringer Harvard; Wright Heerema Architects; ESD; MB Real Estate and SVN Crossroads Property Management.
The ongoing issue of how property managers can be more efficient and help retain their tenant’s employees was on everyone’s mind. Despite downsized workspaces, innovative ideas for modernizing an office, creating engaging collaborative spaces, effectively using a mobile device, and more flexibility for telecommuters was debated.
Dusty Duistermars, CRE technologies expert with Qube Global Software stated, “Although it’s great to know that Qube has technology solutions that will address tenant workplace concerns, it’s clear that investors are also hungry for a property management software alternative capable of robust reporting, complex portfolio accounting and highly visual business intelligence. Qube Global Software’s Real Estate Management solution will be a welcomed competitor amongst the shortlist of vendors typically discussed at a forum of this nature.”
