On December 10, Porsche extended an exciting invitation to members of the Industrial Asset Management Council to tour their Experience Center in the heart of Atlanta. Porsche is known as an industry leader for their commitment to quality, consistency and high performance. It made perfect sense for IAMC to choose this facility for the Atlanta local event. Porsche welcomed nearly 30 IAMC members to tour the Porsche museum, walk the state-of-the-art facility and open work space, and dine in Restaurant 356 before heading outside to the test track.
The track sits on a 27.4 acre complex, a total reflection of Porsche’s past, present and future. The main attraction is the world-class test track and handling course featuring specially engineered surfaces and highly customizable technical driving modules. To truly appreciate the automobile and explore the depth of its capabilities firsthand, attendees ‘experienced’ the sports car by sitting in the passenger seat and taking demo laps with a professional driver. Qube Global Software serves as a local sponsor of events, and Sharon Miller Trackman was thrilled to attend the event.
Teaming up with a Porsche Driving Consultant, she took to the track to experience the control and superior craftsmanship of the German automobile. Sharon stated “that was crazy fun, exhilarating and nerve-wracking all at the same time. Sharp corners, slopes, rough surfaces and spin-outs really took me out of my comfort zone, but what a great way to spend 3 minutes!”
IAMC was excited to host such a unique event in their hometown of Atlanta. Keep a look out for great new local programming in the New Year.
