Once again, IFMA (International Facility Management Association) proved itself with dynamic programming at the Orlando Facility Fusion, hosted April 21 through 23 at Rosen Shingle Creek. Attracting nearly 1,000 facility management professionals, this was IFMA’s second year hosting 2 spring time regional events. With the need for further education spanning all of the Americas, this years’ first Fusion took place in the Canadian province of Vancouver in British Columbia.
Best practices and business challenges remain a key focus for engaging educational sessions. Forum topics revolved around the importance of leadership and management as the FM profession continues to diversify. Leadership tracks targeted trend setting discussions held at the chapter, council and community level. Case studies were presented by key participants involved in changes within their organizational structure. Insights relating to the benefits of sustainability and environmental stewardships were featured in multiple discussions. Attending facility managers received credits towards achieving either the CSP or CFP certifications.
Service provider companies were featured during the exhibition. Qube Global Software was represented by Sharon Miller Trackman, Director of Marketing for the Americas. Discussing the advantages of the company’s space management solution, a miniature to scale model of office space in Hong Kong was essential for true visualization. Qube Space is an essential solution for move and space planners. Maintaining ever-changing floor plans and staff churn can easily be handled within the drag and drop system. By running a variety of surveys on space utilization via the LEGO model, Sharon showed ways to improve use of space via heat map tracking.
Qube Global Software will be exhibiting at IFMA’s World Workplace in Denver, Colorado in October of 2015. We look forward to seeing you there!
