IFMA (International Facility Management Association) once again expanded its successful Facility Fusion event into 2 separate programs. The first was hosted in Indianapolis, IN on April 12 through 14, and the second in Montreal, Quebec on May 4 and 5.
Sharon Miller Trackman, Director of Marketing for the Americas, was a featured presenter at the Indianapolis event. Sharon’s presentation focused on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and how technological advancements affect our social behavior in the workplace.
The interactive presentation was both educational and entertaining, with information provided in an anecdotal fashion. Sharon broached the sometimes uncomfortable subjects of poor behavior in a professional setting.
While standards need to be implemented as workspace evolves, subjects like lack of privacy, volume control and interruption etiquette were both discussed and debated.
The program was an adaptation of a prior presentation done for CoreNet on how we all need to play well with each other in our work sandbox. Sharon mimicked some of the key lessons learned from Robert Fulghum’s bestseller ‘All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten’. Participation afforded the audience the chance to pick a ‘prize’ from the ‘sandbox’ as a reminder of a fun filled hour of learning and sharing!
Matthew Sheldrick, Managing Director for the Americas, exhibited at the Montreal event, sharing exciting upgrades and improvements to our already best in class solutions for real estate management. The smaller conference with an open floor plan, afforded the nearly 250 attendees a more intimate to learn and share industry best practices, while engaging in learning sessions.
“We continue to support IFMA as it expands into the Canadian market,” stated Matthew. “We appreciate any opportunity to visit with our long term customers and friends at BMO. And we believe that these focused fusion events allow us the chance to truly interact with facility managers.”
