The magazine publication The Leader, which is produced by CoreNet Global, recently surveyed industry experts via Twitter on their opinions of which social media tools were most helpful to CRE professionals in their daily roles.
Eric “Dusty” Duistermars, Business Development for Qube Global Software, recommended the following social media tools: “I couldn’t get by without Flipboard – it’s a social media news magazine that allows you to pull in feeds from your LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media and e-news accounts (NY Times, etc.) into one e-reader application. It’s amazing! If I see a great article that I want to share or repost, I can open the link in another great app called Everypost. I can then choose which social media platforms to post the article to – maybe my LinkedIn, Twitter, or maybe just Facebook and Tumblr (all at one time!). Or, I can simply just email a link to the article (or tweet, or whatever it was) to anyone I choose.”
Dusty has been recognized for his expertise on mobile applications, most recently being a keynote presenter during the IAMC 2013 Fall Forum in Salt Lake City, UT. Dusty will be leading a session on “Best CRE Apps” during CoreNet’s Great Lakes Regional Symposium at Loyola University in Chicago, IL, on May 13. In response to being published, Duistermars states that “this exemplifies why social media is so important. It creates real time opportunities for individuals to be seen and heard, as well as to provide the platform for peer to peer education.”
