Rob Lewis, Business Intelligence Consultant on our Horizon team, successfully completed the Berlin marathon on Sunday 28th September in aid of Cancer Research in a hugely impressive time of 3:26:49.
Rob (pictured right running the London Bupa 10k earlier this year) really enjoyed the day despite the hard graft:
“The experience was incredible as it was my first marathon. There was a huge turnout of spectators supporting the event and a few people calling out my name – which was printed on the race number – and high fives from various children and adults around the course really kept me going.
“The conditions were perfect – the world record was broken in the main race – and that definitely helped in achieving my goal of a time of 3:30. From the 30km mark onwards, I knew I was on track but my legs were very tired so I was just concentrating on keeping the momentum going and making sure I got to the end.”
