Representatives from Qube Global Software and CAD Management exhibited jointly at the Building Operating Management’s NFMT (National Facilities Management and Technology) 2013 conference in Baltimore, Maryland, March 12 through 14.
The 2013 conference provided a forum whereby Facility Management professionals shared best practices and pending industry trends in an exhibit hall venue, networking on and off the tradeshow floor. Qube Global Software displayed the Qube Space Management module, powered by Accordant. The software is a web-based program developed by CAD Management; how the tools work was demonstrated through a scaled office model wholly made up of Lego pieces. Attendees interacted with the software by engaging in a competition that allowed them to estimate percentage of space underutilized in the 88 person office replica.
A daily winner was selected, based on the closest estimate to the percentage of space utilized. Winners included: Chris Stevens of MRA Realty, Inc.; Justin House of Mesa Inc.; and Leesa Williams of Boat US.
“As first time exhibitors, we were impressed by the high level of organization Building Operating Management puts into planning the courses and exhibition. The competition on the booth was a great way to interact with attendees, allowing us to engage in powerful and informative conversations about space management. We were able to justify that the majority of facility managers do possess a reasonable appreciation of how much office space is being utilized, but admit that they would like a solution to better understand how to use it,” said Matthew Sheldrick, Vice President of Business Development for Qube Global Software.
